Check out "Fins" in Springfield for a more authentic diner with better food. Haven't written the review yet, but I will definitely rate it higher than Brail's.

My husband and I ate here for the first time last week after having heard and seen the name around town for a while. I didn't expect anything more than a diner establishment and was not disappointed in the least. They were not pretending to be anything but a diner neither with their prices, menu which included mostly pre-made entrees and sauces, nor in their decor. Prior to ordering, my husband asked whether a few items were made there or not and that determined what he ordered. The country fried steak, gravy and hollandaise were not made in house, but the corn beef hash was. It was excellent as was my breakfast wrap and both were of appropriate size. We also shared a cinnamon roll which was made there. I am a tea drinker and I enjoyed the house brewed Oolong tea which was served in a coffee pot just like coffee.

I would say Brail's is a step above a traditional diner in service and food quality - it will not leave you wondering what else has been cooked on the grill with the food you just ate. I would not compare it to the more trendy Eugene breakfast places which go out of there way to make food fresh. It's a diner with traditional breakfast entrees cooked in the diner style with friendly service.

Funny, I have never been back since I wrote this review. It's definitely been longer than 6 months.
