There is a tiny BBQ shack (literally) on Hwy 99 called Oklahoma something. I am going to check it out next week. They only have some rough picnic tables for eating outside, but I guess it is better than nothing. Fairly mullet-ish area over there though…

Hey, you’re right! I just visited their website, and they note there that they closed down their store and will now focus on catering/parties. (sob!)

I went there a few months back and it was fantastic… however it appears to be shut down now. BBQ in this area seems to be cursed.

After reading your blog post about the Wagon Yard, I decided that I HAD to try it- and I am so glad I did! The food was absolutely awesome. I had the brisket as well, and I could not have been more impressed. Thanks so much for your great blog and your honest reviews- it’s so great to have information like this for our area.

I didn’t realize I could actually fall in love with a “meat place” as I’m more of a veggie & seafood person. Yet today after lunch at the Wagon Yard BBQ, there is no doubt this place has won my heart…
What can I say more than Mr. Eugenified had, maybe add a little summary myself.
1. This place is surprisingly nice and
clean. Cute too. Not clustered but
definitely letting out the Texas
atmosphere.
2. The owners are friendly and sincere.
Hospitable too, of course.
3. The food (ribs and brisket as I ordered)
is fantastic. Fresh, tender and
flavorful. Just perfectly cooked. I’m
hooked…
Try their homemade dessert too. We had
peach cobbler with ice cream. Humm….
Yum!
As to BBQ, the Wagon Yard is for sure the best place to go for. A little bit of a drive, yes, but definitely worth it.
