Quick Review: Another in a long line of too hippie restaurants in Eugene. You know the drill. Surprisingly, this place does better than most in this category. It’s actually sorta clean, or at least clean-ish. They have booths for placing your too fat corporate butt. The kitchen has too professional equipment and appears well organized. But the menu…oh the menu!…is a too massive overreach. Too many items, too many categories, too many things too choose. Too freakin’ too. Not too hard too imagine how this story ends: Everything is just too ok, or maybe too so so in some cases. What did too expect? Did too really think any single restaurant could too so many types of tood and succeed?!
Maybe worth too visits a year or if they have some too interesting activity in their outtoor patioo area.

Your an idiot. Why would you write such a retarded rant? Are you 12?
“Your”?
Ironic.
I don’t agree with his spelling, but I otherwise agree with john. Why would more choices be bad, or mean they can’t cook them well? It could be that there are only 10 things, just with different options and they like to give the sets of options names, for fun.
And the accusation that booths are for “too fat” butts, or that there is some connection between corporatism and booths, is crazy. Booths are great! Btw, since you somehow have gotten this far in life without noticing, booths are especially good for couples, kids, and people who like lounge a little.
No restaurant on earth, including World Cafe, could possibly do a good job on so many different items.
Booths are good. I was making fun of our collective fat butts and how much we love to park them in booths.
I would recommend they cut down the number of menu items, THEN work on each of them to make sure they are the best that can be offered.
Second, the counter service is atrocious. Yes, it’s cool and laid-back and hippie, but it still sucks because I WANT TO ORDER MY DAMN FOOD. Why are the counter people always wandering around as if no one really is in charge of the counter? I have been there several times in the evening trying to purchase some baked goods (New Day scones are the best). Each time, various staff members looked directly at me then walked away without a word. So I stood and stood and stood…and finally two times I just left the money on the counter and walked out.
Anyhoo, World Cafe (or New Day Bakery or whatever they call it today) is not bad. I gave it 3 stars. That’s not so bad is it? By the way, they make the worst cafe lattes in all of Eugene. But I know that’s not “they’re” speciality…
